Akaba, Jordan
This town with modern aspect is
however a place with a lot of history. Its economic activity is
mainly bound to the large port which is at seven kilometers more in
the east. The second vocation of the city is tourist, the climate is
very soft there throughout the winter, and sea-beds are among most
beautiful of the world.
Akaba knew a fast growth. It
counts today approximately 100 000 inhabitants, of which a majority
of Palestinian, originating in Gaza and Ber Sheva. The downtown area
is modest, some streets between the municipality, the post office
and a park. The sea front is composed of an alignment of hotels.
